  • Who will I meet at my initial consultation?+-

    You will meet with one of our Registered General Nurses at your free consultation who will assess your suitability and make a recommendation as to the best course of action for you and how you can achieve your desired results. At River Medical, all consultations take place with medically trained and qualified personnel. For non-surgical consultations and subsequent treatments such as Thermage, patients meet with a Registered General Nurse; and for surgical consultations, patients naturally meet with a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. What this means for you, the patient, is that you can make an informed decision and rest assured that you are in the safest, most experienced and trusted of hands.

  • Who will carry out my treatment+-

    Only a Registered General Nurse with extensive experience will carry out your treatment.

    There’s no down time with the Thermage treatment but it is an intensive treatment and generates a deep heat into the deeper layers of the skin. This controlled and deep heat causes injury to the deeper layers of the skin and stimulates your body’s natural renewal process.   • How long does it take?+-

    Treatment time can range from 1 – 3 hours depending on the area being treated.

  • How soon will I see results?+-

    It takes up to six months to see the full results of the treatment which last up to five years. Your River Medical Nurse will discuss this in great detail at your free consultation.

  • How long will the results last?+-

    Generally results last for approximately 5 years.

  • Is there any downtime?+-

    No, there’s no down time with Thermage. Skin may be a little red afterwards but generally this subsides after a few hours and you can resume normal activities immediately afterwards. Your River Medical Nurse will discuss this in great detail at your free consultation.
