-
What sort of implant do you use?+-

What is the recovery period?+-
You will need to take 7 to 10 days off after your surgery. If your job is physical you may require more time. You will have an element of discomfort after your surgery which typically lasts one to ten days but this will be managed with the support of your Consultant Plastic Surgeon and River Medical Registered General Nurse. Generally you can return to all normal activities within 3-6 weeks. We encourage patients to get back to their normal life as soon as it feels comfortable for them. We feel that this really promotes and aids a speedy and successful recovery. Everyone recovers differently but you can rest assured that we will monitor you closely to ensure the swiftest, safest and most comfortable recovery.
-
Will there be scarring?+-
Our Consultant Plastic Surgeons use very fine specialist stitching which minimises scarring. He/she will discuss this in great detail with you at your initial consultation. He/she will also show you actual photographs of similar incision sites that he/she has carried out on other patients. The incision is generally made under the natural crease of the breast so it won’t be visible to you at any stage.
-
Will I be able to breast feed after the procedure+-
This is an extremely common question and you can rest assured that the answer is yes, the ability to breast feed should not be affected after your procedure. The breast tissue and the duct connections to the nipples are not affected or touched during the implant procedure.

-
Why do you not have before and after pictures on your website?+-
Before and after pictures on websites can be misleading as they may not be patients of the surgeon who will be carrying out your surgery. As every person has completely different expectations and different treatment requirements, it is a much more valuable tool for your Consultant to show pictures of not only surgeries that he/she has carried out but also show you results you will be likely to achieve.
